Complex Business Litigation
One of the firm’s primary emphases is complex commercial litigation. Our attorneys have successfully prosecuted and defended hundreds of cases in numerous state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration. Our attorneys have won multi-million dollar plaintiff’s verdicts, and have achieved complete defense verdicts in bet-the-company litigation. The firm has handled cases involving breaches of contract, partnership disputes, broker-dealer activities, investment misrepresentations, unfair competition, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and other business torts, securities litigation, conversion, employment disputes, requests for restraining orders and preliminary and permanent injunctive relief, and entertainment and accounting actions for both plaintiffs and defendants. Most recently, the firm obtained a favorable judgment on behalf of an internationally renown choir and symphony based in Beirut, Lebanon and Cyprus that is dedicated to the preservation and enrichment of traditional Armenian culture, song, dance and alphabet. Other representative clients include entertainment artists and producers; national and international companies; regional accounting firms; private equity funds; real estate investors and developers; other business investors; waste removal and recycling companies; service industry providers; charitable organizations; medical and dental professionals; entrepeneurs; mortgage lending and servicing entities; and and cement industry companies.

Real Estate Litigation
The firm represents a number of entrepreneurial investors, contractors, and developers relating to real estate developments in the United States and the Bahamas. On behalf of these clients, the firm has litigated claims regarding breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and other business torts, real estate partnership dissolution, rescission, and construction defect matters. The firm has successfully defeated numerous attempts by opposing parties to tie up client property with lis pendens, most recently obtaining a favorable published decision by the California Court of Appeal.

Media & Entertainment
The firm has a number of media and entertainment clients. The firm’s experience includes the representation of talent, such as writers, directors, actors and producers, as well as talent agencies, production companies and sales agents, in the negotiation and documentation of agreements for both live action and animated motion pictures, television, direct to DVD and related productions. The firm also has negotiated and documented production, distribution and financing agreements relating to motion picture production and motion picture acquisition both within the United States and internationally.

The firm has extensive experience in the litigation of entertainment industry disputes, including idea theft, copyright infringement, unfair competition, other intellectual property disputes, guild arbitrations and audit and profit participation disputes.

Probate Litigation
The firm also represents clients in probate litigation. Most recently, the firm discovered and proved notarial fraud, which led to the undoing of phony deeds.

Appellate Litigation
The firm has handled appeals of all sizes, on judgments ranging from thousands of dollars to tens of millions of dollars at both the state and federal levels.

Bankruptcy Litigation
The firm has a proven track record of successfully pursuing adversary actions of all sizes in bankruptcy courts. Our attorneys have also been appointed and served as Special Litigation Counsel to trustees, creditor’s committees, and debtors-in-possession in bankruptcy proceedings.

Transactions
The firm has substantial experience in the creation, sale, and operation of a variety of businesses, and has spearheaded the negotiation and finalization of numerous real estate, partnership, LLC and professional corporation transactions. The firm has negotiated, documented, and done due diligence on the sale of a research and development subsidiary of a Washington utility, and has handled the sale of a Nevada casino. The firm has been involved in the negotiation of purchases and sales of numerous real estate developments and projects, and has also overseen the mergers and sales of businesses in a wide variety of fields and forms. The firm also assists law and accounting firms with the negotiation and resolution of sales, structures, and personnel issues.
